Beeswax Wraps Care and Use
Beeswax Wraps Care and Use is EASY.
Our beeswax wraps are reusable and hand washable. They will last up to a year or longer with proper care. And taking care of beeswax wraps is a breeze. Watch this short video to see how easy it is to use.
Beeswax Wraps Care and Use: The Basics
The warmth of your hands causes the beeswax to become pliable. The beeswax food wrap will stick to itself to provide a clean and protective seal. When placed in the fridge the beeswax hardens retaining the shape and sealing in the goodness. A return to room temperature will soften it.
Simply wash/rinse and reuse!
How To Clean Beeswax Wraps
Always hand-wash your Beezy Wrap® in COLD water and eco-friendly dish soap.
After use, simply rinse in cold water – hot water will reduce the wax coating – (avoid alcohol based soaps).
In COLD water the beeswax coating will be stiff, providing a stable surface to clean. Your Beezy Wrap® washes like a plate, not a piece of fabric.
Once clean you can either hang to dry or use a towel to pat dry and re-use immediately. Do not wring.
Reusable? Oh YES They Are!
After use, simply rinse in cold water – hot water will weaken the wax coating – you can wash with an eco-friendly soap (avoid alcohol based soaps). Once clean you can either hang to dry or use a towel to pat dry and re-use immediately.
Do not wring.
Roll or fold your wrap and keep in with your other food packaging, in a drawer or where-ever you find convenient. Yup, it’s that easy!
Storing Different Kinds of Foods
Our coating is fluid resistant, so moisture will not leak through the actual fabric. This means the possibilities of what you can save are endless!
Stains and creases are normal with regular use. All materials used are natural so some deeply pigmented foods may slightly discolour your Beezy Wrap®. You can minimize staining by rinsing in cold water shortly after food has been removed. Creases or stains will not alter the function of your beeswax food wrap.
Storing Fruits, Vegetables and Leftovers
Form the beeswax wrap around the cut side of your food. Avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, onions… pretty much any fruit or vegetable!
Remove cheese from the original packaging it came in and wrap it in a Beezy Wrap® beeswax wrap.
Storing Frozen Food
You can use Beezy Wrap beeswax wraps in the freezer, just for short term – 30 days or less!
They are not recommended for uncooked meats or fish, however.
What Shouldn’t They Be Used For?
Avoid uncooked meats; long term freezer use (more than a month) and microwaves (the beeswax will melt into your food). If you must use with meat, place the meat in a dish, then cover and store in the refrigerator. We suggest avoiding direct contact with raw meat.
Avoid prolonged contact with oily or greasy foods.
Beezy Wrap® beeswax wrap is NOT suitable for the dishwasher, microwave oven, direct heat or high temperatures.
